XBooks utilizes the strength of the internet, limitless networking and information sharing, to provide a marketplace for college students to buy and sell textbooks. Rather than standing in long lines at the local bookstore students can:

1. Buy textbooks and class notes from fellow students. 2. Sell your textbooks and class notes to another student. 3. Buy textbooks from other online stores. 4. Sell your book to a book wholesaler. 5. Determine what textbook you need for class (coming soon).

The buyer of a textbook will have direct contact with the seller to negotiate a price. They will then select a location to make the exchange. This hassle-free environment will be continually monitored to ensure the credibility of members. If the book required is not listed by another student or is a new edition, the buyer will be provided a link to different internet bookstores that will enable the purchase.

**Premium Membership, requires members have a valid school email address with a participating school (ONLY SCHOOL EMAIL ADDRESSES ARE ALLOWED).

Services included in Premium Membership:

1. Ability to VIEW CONTACT INFORMATION for student selling a textbook (email, phone number, IM address)- Only MEMBERS of XBooks can view contact information for a person selling a textbook.
2. Ability to purchase new or used textbooks from on-line bookstores - If a MEMBER wants to purchase a new or uses textbook on-line, XBooks will help the member search multiple on-line bookstores for the best book value.
3. Provide college students with listing of required textbooks for upcoming college course offerings - XBooks is currently working to provide students with information on which textbooks are required for a class. XBooks believes this information should be provided on all courses, well inadvance of the first day of class. (Textbook Affordability bill)
4. Sell your textbook to an online wholesaler - If your school is no longer buying your textbook back, we offer a link to an online textbook wholesaler who may purchase your textbook from you.
5. Ability to advertise your books for sale - Provide college students with the ability to advertise unlimited used college textbooks on the Xbooksaves.com website. Each book will stay listed for one year regardless of membership status.

1. How do I advertise a book on XBooks?

Click on Join XBooks and sign up as a Premium Member. Then retrieve your user name (student email address) and password from your school email account. Log onto XBooks and click Add Book. Fill in the required information and any additional information for the book. Click Submit to finalize your advertisement.

2. What is the advantage of listing a book on XBooks or

buying a book from another student.

a. Get more money for your book (your classnotes can greatly increase the value of your book)

b. Meet a student who has already taken the class (learn about professor, test, attendance, etc.)

3. How long will my book be listed on XBooks?

Your book will be listed for one year beginning on the day you list it. Even if your Premium membership expires, your book will remain listed for one year.

4. What personal information will be listed with my book?

Your first name and student email address are mandatory. A phone number is optional.

NOTE - XBooks will not request your home address or place of employment.

5. How much will XBooks charge me to locate the seller of the book I want to purchase?

NOTHING!! ABSOLUTELY FREE!

6. What fee does XBooks recieve from a student for the purchase or sale of a textbook to

another student?

NOTHING!! XBooks does not charge a student for ANYTHING!!!

6. Who can become a member of XBooks?

Only registered students/employees with a valid college email account at one of the colleges/universities listed by XBooks can become members.

7. Why is my membership only one (1) year.

It is our way of managing the site, when students decide to leave school. However no matter when you advertise a book, it will stay listed for one year regardless of membership.

8. Can I become a member of XBooks at another college that I do not attend?

You can only become a member at the college at which you are a registered student/employee, and have been assigned an email account.

9. Can I browse and search for textbooks without being a member?

You are not required to be a member in order to browse or search for textbooks. However, to gain access to seller information or to list books, requires a membership.

10. How do I determine a book value?

Go to the "Determine Book Value" tab, enter the textbook ISBN number or title, and search the multiple bookstores to see their prices. OR call a local bookstore.
